Principal's Message
Greetings STEM Academy Families,
Welcome to the 2023-2024 school year. It is with great pleasure that I introduce myself to you as the new Principal of STEM Academy. I am excited about beginning this new journey as we lead our STEM scholars to greatness!
We are glad that you are joining us, as we embark on an exciting year of teaching and learning at STEM Academy. Our district’s theme for this school year is, “Let’s Do More in 24” ~ which means we are continuing to advance our students’ academic and social emotional knowledge even more than before. As we enter the 2023 – 2024 school year, we will be able to grow together as we focus on collaborative learning through the school-wide implementation of our reading programs along with exploring our new math program I-ready. This year we will renew our commitment to excellence in all that we do, as we seek to provide engaging instruction daily with the expectation that all students can learn and succeed. We will continue to provide students with opportunities to address social emotional needs, academic deficiencies and to build numeracy and literacy skills.
We are pleased to inform you that Dolton School District 149 will continue the implementation of the Community Eligibility Provision (CEP), an option available to schools participating in the National School Lunch and School Breakfast programs, for the 2023-2024 school year. Schools that participate in CEP are able to provide healthy breakfasts and lunches each day at no charge for all students enrolled in that CEP school.
Our first day of school will be a Full day on Wednesday, August 16, 2023, beginning at 8:20a.m. – 2:50 p.m. Students will be required to wear a red polo style shirt and khaki pants. Enclosed you will find an information verification form, transportation form, school supply list and your student’s schedule. Please complete the transportation form, check the information verification form for accuracy, and make changes if needed. Please bring both forms to school at your earliest convenience. You may also fax your forms to 708-868-7562 or scan and email them to my administrative assistant Ms. Boddy at Boddyj@sd149.org. We also ask that every parent update their email addresses and phone numbers to make communication easy for all.
I am eager to begin this year serving as your principal as we build lasting relationships with all STEM Families. It is going to be an amazing year!
Sincerely,
Mrs. Tia Williams
Principal
